End of Story by Kylie Scott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars □End of Story by @authorkyliescott □283 pages □I picked this book up at @fullcirclebookstore in Oklahoma City but you can get on @amazon kindle for $9.99, you can use an @audible credit or you can listen for through @audiobooks (you can get 2 free credits using the link in my bio) □⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ✭ HEA ✭ grumpy+sunshine ✭ found family ✭ toxic family ✭ forbidden romance (ex’s best friend) This was my first Kylie Scott book and it did not disappoint! I devoured this in a few hours. Susie Bowen inherits a fixer-upper home from her aunt, who was more like a mom. When she hires the contractor company, she knows they are the best in town. But what she didn’t know was that the main contractor working on her house is her ex’s best friend. She was told he would not be the contact on this job, but due to a last minute emergency, she’s stuck with him. Things get unbelievably weird when day 1 of contractor work, they both find a divorce certificate dated 10 years in the future….with BOTH their names on it! This starts a unique relationship. They always got along while she dated his best friend for a year before her beyond humiliating breakup. But how can they have a semblance of a friendship when he’s still best friends with her ex, and they have this mysterious divorce document looming over their heads. While there was a cinch of a magical feel in this story…I mean, hello divorce certificate from the future…what I loved most about this story was how these two built a relationship. It was centered around the biggest what-if of this divorce certificate, and built around loads of healthy communication, hysterical banter, and a combination of found and toxic family. 1. Assess Your Space The first step in creating your dream book nook is to assess the available space in your home. Whether it's a spare room, a corner of the living room, or even just a window seat, consider the dimensions and layout to determine how to best utilize the space for your reading retreat.
I downloaded this book on Audiobooks. I tend to listen to books on tape during my 8 minute commute from my sons school to mine, and then on a short lunch break, and maybe I connect my speaker while I take a shower. So in a couple weeks, this book would be marked off my list. Wow was I wrong! I was making time to listen to this book because I couldn't help but see how the story turned out. What can you find in this book? ✭ fake dating ✭ slow burn ✭ both MC in their 30s ✭ set in Manchester Before I get into the review, let me first introduce you to the author. Mhairi McFarlane was born in Scotland, and while you might think her name is pronounced Mah-Ree, it is actually pronounced Vah-Ree.
At First Spite is a literary gem. It not only defies romance norms but it redefines them with such charm and care. Olivia crafts a narrative that transcends your typical romance trope and infuses depth and authenticity. When Athena’s fiancé ends their engagement, she has no choice but to move into the house she bought for him as a wedding present, which leaves her house poor. The problem? The home is attached to his house AND his brother’s, which she was unaware of at the time of purchase. |
